Pickpocket Men/Women which can be found almost everywhere including Lumbridge, Varrock, Falador, Ardougne.

Levels 5-20

Icon Stall Experience Per Steal Steals Needed Loot
Baker's stall 16 256 Cake, bread, slice of chocolate cake

Steal from baker's stalls. These can be found in East Ardougne. Upon stealing from a baker's stall, you have the chance of recieving a whole cake, bread, or a slice of chocolate cake. It is advised to keep the cakes which you can use for later levels as healing when you get stunned.

Levels 20-30

Icon Stall Experience Per Steal Steals Needed Loot
Silk stall 24 371 Silk

Steal from silk stalls which can be found in East Ardougne. Many players choose to bank the silk they recieve from silk stalls as it can be a source of small profit.

Guards protect the silk stalls and if they catch you stealing, they will attack you. Make sure you are on the opposite side of the stall when stealing. That way if you get caught, they won't be able to attack you as they will be stuck on the other side of the stall.

Levels 30-37

Players should complete The Feud which will give enough experience to get from level 30 to level 37. Completing this quest also unlocks access to blackjacking which is used later on in Thieving.

Both the length and difficulty of the quest is medium.

Levels 37-38

Icon Stall Experience Per Steal Steals Needed Loot
Fur stall 36 82 Grey wolf fur

Steal from fur stalls until level 38. Fur stalls are located in East Ardougne, the same location where baker's and silk stalls are. Stealing from fur stalls will give you grey wolf fur.

Levels 38-45/55

Icon Name Experience Per Pickpocket Pickpockets Needed Loot
Master Farmer 43 724 (level 45) or 3,169 (level 55) All types of seeds except tree seeds

Pickpocket master farmers until level 45 or level 55. Master farmers can be found in various locations, however, most players choose to pickpocket them in Draynor Village as there is easy access to a bank. If you banked the cakes when stealing from the baker's stall, this is a good time to bring them as you will fail a lot. If you don't care so much about experience as you do money, pickpocket master farmers until level 55.

Upon successfully pickpocketing a master farmer, you can get all types of seeds apart from tree seeds.

The experience rate is about 22K experience per hour at level 40 Thieving.

Levels 45-55

Icon Name Experience Per Pickpocket Pickpockets Needed Loot
Bearded Pollnivnian Bandit 65 1,618 40 Coins

Until level 55, players should use the blackjacking method on bearded pollnivnian bandits (combat level 41). Upon successfully pickpocketing the bearded bandit, you will recieve 40 coins.

Levels 55-65

Icon Name Experience Per Pickpocket Pickpockets Needed Loot
Pollnivnian Bandit 84.3 3,355 50 Coins

Staying in Pollnivneach, use the blackjacking method on pollnivnian bandits. After successfully pickpocketing the bandit, you will get 50 coins.

Levels 65-91/99

Icon Name Experience Per Pickpocket Pickpockets Needed Loot
Menaphite Thug 137.5 39,662 (level 91) or 91,528 (level 99) 60 Coins

This is the stage where you will gain most of your levels. Use the blackjacking method on menaphite thugs which are also located in Pollnivneach. Using the maple blackjack (o) is the most effective while training on menaphite thugs.

Blackjacking menaphite thugs is the fastest experience in the game, however, it can get very tedious and boring. Many players choose to blackjack the menaphite thugs until level 91 and then move on to Pyramid Plunder, however, if you want the fastest experience, use this method until level 99.

It is advised to bring noted food and some money which you can sell and then re-buy as unnoted food from the general store in Pollnivneach.

Levels 91-99

Most players choose to do the Pyramid Plunder minigame from levels 91-99. Pyramid Plunder can be up to 200K experience per hour, which is still slightly slower than blackjacking menaphite thugs, however, it is less tedious.

Experience rates will differ depending how successful you are at searching all the chests and urns.

Requirements to enter the pyramid are either having started the Icthlarin's Little Helper quest or by teleporting to the pyramid via the Pharaoh's sceptre.

Blackjacking is a method of thieving which can be used with many different NPCs. In short, a blackjack is used to lure and knock-out the NPC and then pickpocket them while they're knocked out.

To obtain a blackjack, the player must first complete the blackjack section of the Rogue Trader minigame. Once this is done, the player can buy blackjacks from Ali Morrisane in Al-Kharid. The type of blackjack can be switched by talking to the blackjack dealer in Polnivneach.

There are three types of blackjacks: ordinary, offensive, and defensive. The ordinary blackjacks provide a small strength bonus, while offensive and defensive raise both strength and crush bonuses.

To use the blackjacks, the player must have completed the quest The Feud. After wielding the blackjack, right click the NPC and select 'Lure'. When hidden from other NPCs, the player should choose the 'Knock-out' option. It's advised to lure the NPCs into small houses to make things easier and faster.

Note: You can pickpocket the NPC while it's knocked-out twice before the NPC gets back up.
