Right, cause 7-year-olds will choose the expansion of universe from nothing and matter vs antimatter physics that confuse adults enough to force them into rather believing a theory that some supernatural being created the whole thing in seven days.

as far as i know i have been taught both the 2 theories.

i have learned christian creationism on religious education classes and evolution on biology classes. i think its pretty cool system. kids learn both ways and so arent left ignorant about either. i dont really see the problem.

although i agree that the time spent on RE could probably be spent better

In social studies we were taught both about creation and evolution. We were then asked to write an opinion paragraph on whi you thought was correct.

Oh yeah, this was in grade six at 11.

I was still religious back then.

I re-read that paper just now.

Oh god, why

We didn't have religion education classes, but my school's Art History classes contained a lot of bible studying because most of western art is based on it.

What if I believe that a higher power CREATED simple things that eventually EVOLVED into better and different things?
Is this going to be a problem?

I'm not at home regarding the big bang theory but I think there have been theories for how something could come from nothing.

Here's one

Anyway, I personally don't believe in any shape or form of a higher power.

Won't be a problem but definitely something to argue about.

I mean, that specific theory kind of defies the current accepted theory of evolution, but it's definitely possible if there's an omnipotent creator. In my mind, it's too unrealistic but it can't "really" be disproved.
